Sharing findings with international and local communities

Here, our ESR 8, Barbara Heitner, reports on her findings to the research community using two different means of presentation: a poster in an international conference and a sequence of slides in a seminar held locally.

Barbara had the chance to present a poster at the Ninth International Conference on Bridges in Danube Basin, where she is from. The conference is organised every third year in different Danube countries, and it aims not only to analyse present trends in bridge construction in every Danube country, but also to promote advances in bridge engineering. This conference edition took place in Žilina (Slovakia) from the 30th September to the 1st October 2016. The poster by Barbara was titled “Probabilistic Modelling of Bridge Safety Based on Damage Indicators” and coauthored by Eugene J. OBrien, Franck Schoefs, Thierry Yalamas, Rodrigue Décatoire and Cathal Leahy. The poster presentation was held within Session 5, from 17.30 to 18.30 on the Friday 30th September. Barbara is based in Phimeca, in Clermont-Ferrand (France), where she has also disseminated her research locally. She presented her work in an ESReDA seminar held in Institut Pascal, Polytech Clermont-Ferrand Blaise Pascal University France, during the 20th and 21st October 2016.
