Two Workshops are held in national forums to highlight TRUSS ITN progress and achievements to date. Guest speakers from outside the consortium are also invited to give talks in these events. The workshops are organized through interaction with local professional organizations and give the ESRs the opportunity to present their research to interested stakeholders and to improve their knowledge and expand their horizons even further.

  • first workshop is hosted by Lloyd’s Register in their London quarters (UK) on the Wednesday 24th May 2017. At that point, the ESRs will have a definitive understanding of the broad scope of the project, a firm knowledge of its specific objectives and they will be in a position to present preliminary results. Here, the ESR will use the training from their communication module, in combination with their research skills training and the initial part of their doctoral research, to produce a poster presentation reviewing progress to date.
  • second workshop is hosted by UCD in Dublin (Ireland) on the Wednesday 29th August 2018. Here, TRUSS liaised with the Civil Engineering Research Association of Ireland (CERAI) to host the TRUSS event in parallel with the Civil and Engineering Research (CERI) conference. Project coordinator and all ESRs delivered powerpoint presentations. They also interacted with the public at a TRUSS kiosk made available in the main hall.
